Progressive lenses
When are progressive lenses useful?
From around the age of 40, the elasticity of the lens of the eye decreases. This makes it increasingly difficult to focus on close objects such as cell phones, newspapers, books, etc. Unlike before the age of 40, different lens strengths are required for distance and close-up vision.
Hence the name "progressive lens": the different strengths for distance and close vision blend smoothly into one another and enable vision in all necessary areas, starting from the distance, for example when driving a car, through the intermediate distance required for example when cooking or using the computer, to close vision. This enables sharp vision at all distances, depending on which part of the lens is being used.
When manufacturing progressive lenses, imaging errors occur in the lenses for physical reasons, which depend primarily on the progression of presbyopia, the so-called addition. The higher the addition required, the more imaging errors occur in progressive lenses. That is why it is a good idea to get used to progressive lenses as early as possible. This way, you grow into the subject slowly and avoid going from "0 to 100".
The imaging errors are mainly expressed through blurring and rocking effects when the head moves. Today's generation of progressive lenses are very well tolerated and avoid these disadvantages primarily through individualization for the individual wearer. The better a progressive lens is tailored to the individual wearer, the greater the visual comfort. This is why there is a very large price range for progressive lenses, which depends primarily on the quality and degree of individualization of the respective product.
In order to achieve a very high level of customer satisfaction, we first advise you in detail. We can only tell you which product is best for you once we know your requirements, your exact lens strengths and your anatomical requirements. Then nothing stands in the way of you getting used to them quickly and being very satisfied with your new progressive lenses.

Single vision lenses
When are single vision lenses useful?
Single vision lenses are needed if you cannot see clearly at close or distant objects. The reasons for this are the refractive power, the length and the shape of the eye. If the eyeball is too long, you are short-sighted; if it is too short, you are long-sighted. If the eyeball is also "bent" this is called astigmatism, which is also often referred to as corneal curvature. This visual impairment is corrected with single vision distance glasses.
When the elasticity of the eye lens decreases, you also become presbyopic. If you can still see well in the distance, you are a candidate for single vision reading glasses.
We would be happy to advise you on which single vision lenses are best suited for you and would be delighted if you put your trust in us. You can easily book an appointment here>>
